Job Description

Ready to take the next major step in your drilling career? Trade In Motion is hiring Junior to Intermediate Diamond Drillers for multiple project sites across Canada and the USA. Formed as part of our initiative to fill 20 open roles across our fleet, this position is tailored for professionals with foundational drilling or helper experience. You will work alongside seasoned Lead Drillers to master deep-hole setups, hone your mechanical troubleshooting skills, and step into an operator role within a safety-first environment.

This position is open to North American applicants, with a strong focus on welcoming Canadian, US, and Mexican citizens who are eligible for the TN Visa pathway.

Key Responsibilities & Core Objectives

  • Drilling Support & Control (80% of Time): Assist with and learn to operate diamond drill rigs (including Schramm and DR-series equipment). Work directly with HQ and NQ rod sizes to ensure stable drilling and high core recovery.

  • Preventative Maintenance (10% of Time): Complete detailed daily pre-ops, checking fluid levels, looking for structural defects, tightening bolts, and identifying hydraulic leaks. Participate in scheduled 250–500 hour servicing and assist with component replacements (pumps, cylinders, and rig heads) to build field-mechanic skills.

  • Safety & Hazard Mitigation (5% of Time): Adhere to all safety regulations regarding rig rotation, high-pressure lines, and slick surfaces. Maintain the confidence and authority to issue a "stop work" order if any unsafe field condition or crew behavior is identified.

  • Operational Reporting & Logistics (5% of Time): Learn to maintain accurate daily shift logs, tracking footage, bits used, mud mixtures, and ground conditions. Safely operate auxiliary job site equipment including service trucks, telehandlers, and support tools.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience within the drilling industry (e.g., experienced Drill Helper or Junior Driller).

  • Technical Assets: Foundational exposure to mud mixing, basic mechanical tooling, torch work, or field welding.

  • Soft Skills: Strong team player, eagerness to learn from senior crew members, and an uncompromising safety mindset.

  • Camp & Rotation Readiness: Physically capable of handling heavy field labor, winter drilling, long shifts, and remote camp living conditions.

  • Eligibility: Open to North American applicants. Must hold valid citizenship in Canada or the US, or be a Mexican citizen fully eligible for a TN Visa.

  • Certifications: Valid regional safety tickets, first aid, and immediate or near-term availability.
