Job Description

Are you a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate who wants to break into the heavy industrial sector? Trade In Motion is launching an exclusive Engineer Apprentice Program in the Southwest United States.

Instead of sitting behind a desk, you will start directly in the field—gaining hands-on, mechanical mastery of massive mining machinery while fast-tracking into an internal technical trainer, supervisor, or engineering management position. This role is specifically tailored for Mexican and Canadian engineering graduates looking to launch their international careers via the TN Visa Professional category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Apprenticeship: Work directly alongside senior technicians to learn complex hydraulics, electronics, computerized fault diagnostics, and heavy diesel overhauls from the ground up.

  • System Diagnostics: Master the utilization of proprietary diagnostic software to analyze machinery schematics, data logs, and electronic control modules.

  • Preventative Engineering: Monitor equipment health trends, coordinate scheduled maintenance windows, and ensure field readiness of complex fleets.

  • Future Trainer Track: Document technical processes, master system updates, and prepare to transition into a corporate technical trainer or engineering liaison role for product support.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Must hold a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related qualifying engineering discipline) to satisfy TN Visa regulations.

  • Experience: No prior field experience required! We want enthusiastic, motivated engineering graduates who possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to perform hands-on fieldwork.

  • Commitment: A 24+ month commitment is preferred to ensure full training, immersion, and professional advancement.

  • Language: Conversational spoken English proficiency.

  • Eligibility: Must hold a valid passport and be a citizen of Mexico or Canada eligible for a TN Visa (Engineers qualify cleanly under NAFTA/USMCA professional classifications).

Compensation, Benefits & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00 USD per hour with scheduled milestones for wage increases as technical skills advance.

  • Perks: Comprehensive medical/dental/vision benefits, complete TN Visa legal processing and fee reimbursement, and an upfront Relocation Assistance to assist your move to the US.

  • Locations: Placements available in Phoenix/Tucson, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; or El Paso, Texas.

  • Schedule: Structured Monday through Friday daylight shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM).
